Immersed particle method for fluid-structure interaction

Immersed particle method for fluid-structure interaction: "A method for treating fluid-structure interaction of fracturing structures under impulsive loads is described. The coupling method is simple and does not require any modifications when the structure fails and allows fluid to flow through openings between crack surfaces. Both the fluid and the structure are treated by meshfree methods. For the structure, a Kirchhoff-Love shell theory is adopted and the cracks are treated by introducing either discrete (cracking particle method) or continuous (partition of unity-based method) discontinuities into the approximation. Coupling is realized by a master-slave scheme where the structure is slave to the fluid. The method is aimed at problems with high-pressure and low-velocity fluids, and is illustrated by the simulation of three problems involving fracturing cylindrical shells coupled with fluids. The dynamics of a changing range genetic algorithm

The dynamics of a changing range genetic algorithm: "The formalism is presented for modelling of a genetic algorithm (GA) with an adjustment of a search space size, which assumes that the environment and the population form a unique system; it establishes a dynamic balance and convergence towards an optimal solution. The paper describes the effect of an adjustment of a search space size of GA on the macroscopic statistical properties of population such as the average fitness and the variance fitness of population. The equations of motion were derived for the one-max problem that expressed the macroscopic statistical properties of population after reproductive genetic operators and an adjustment of a search space size in terms of those prior to the operation. Predictions of the theory are compared with experiments and are shown to predict the average fitness and the variance fitness of the final population accurately. Apple and the environment?

Yesterday I just got my macbook pro. The notebook is amazing, but that has been written a lot of times. You probably know that Apple advertised these notebook as "The world's greenest line up of notebooks.

I think that is right for the notebooks but there is a small problem, you have to buy everything separately which means they are packed separately. This still was not be a problem if Apple would have designed the package of these accessories environment friendly. I'm not talking about the materials. I'm talking about the package size. I bought a mini-display port to dvi cable, which was packed in a 4-5 times bigger plastic bag that were necessary. I know that is not a big cost save, but it could prevent dumping a lot of waste to landfills. The other accessory that I bought is the extended warranty which was provided by the Hungarian Apple Service. It is a piece of A4 size paper folded in half, but it came in a big box. Instead of that they could put this paper in an envelope or print it on a card board or what every, just do not waste so much materials.

Anyway the product is great, and I'm very happy with everything, but this bothered me, because Apple accessories is not as green as the computers.

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition

I just bought the game on friday for 8 eur. The official site is here. I still not finished, because I've never played with the original one, but I love this game. The new graphics are really nice. I like that they just redraw the game, and kept the old style arrange. The sounds are perfect. So this game is 10/10.
I know that they are making a 3d version that consist of five episodes and they are coming out with one every month. The first one is already out. You can buy it on steam.

walkman vs. ipod

I read this article about a kind who gave up his ipod for a week to get the feeling of old times when cassettes and walkmans were the coolest gadgets. I love the ipods, and everything, but I also love the walkmans, and these low-tech gadgets that bring back the 80s. And also onething shouldn't be forget: my old walkman is still working, but my first ipod isn't. That shows that the product quality of these days isn't the same ase it used to be.
